# What is an acronym specific to your workplace or profession?
there are literally hundreds. Let’s just try this one: Code Differentiated Multiple Access versus Time Differentiated Multiple Access.
# What is an acronym you use a lot in your personal life?
Here are a couple… COB, for close of business. It came from work, but I have also found value in it. I’ll tell you a phrase that I totally use which makes me a corporate douche bag, but it communicates a lot and does not have to be cliche > win win Yup, I’m totally that guy.
# Internet acronyms are unavoidable, but what’s one you particularly despise, and what’s one you particularly like?
here is a question I have about that. You know the term ‘FAQ’? It stands for ‘frequently asked questions’. Here is the thing, I don’t like to say ‘ef ay queue’. Takes too long. So, I say it phonetically. I say ‘fack’. Did you read the fack? That is how it sounds when I say it. My question is… do you? Or, is that just me?
# What acronym could you create right now for some regular annoyance in your life?
# What would be a memorable or appetizing acronym for your most recent meal? (if your most recent meal was a BLT or SOS or some similarly acronymed food, please choose the next-most recent meal, smart alecks!)
I just made a ham and cheese sammich so profoundly good, it would have made Jerry (you know, crazy jerry the sammich guy) proud. I don’t have a acronym for it, but I had joked to the wife I should get a ‘I ate the whole thing’ shirt for finishing mine. Almost a pound of mustard honey glazed ham pan fried with a dash of butter, set on a bed of fresh cut provolone, then smooshed together under two two inch slices of fresh bakery sourdough… jammed into a buttered Foreman grill. This acted as a panini press. I should have taken a picture of it for you, it was that good.
